Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a special diagnostic test that allows our doctors to best diagnose your condition. The study visualizes soft-tissue which includes organs, muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and many other structures. In conjunction with X-ray and Diagnostic Ultrasound, MRI is an important part of our diagnostic process.
Each patient is assisted to lie down in a comfortable position with customized support for their needs. The machine is large and open on both sides to allow for the best images as well as a relaxed experience for each patient.
While the study is being performed, you will be able to listen to music of your choice and freely communicate with the machine operator. You may hear a few loud sounds, this is normal and ear plug will be provided.
Following the test, our team of doctors will interpret the images and review everything with you on your following visit.
